In the Know S1E3 Very Gross Recap
In 1890, Victorian detective Alfred Hillinghead (played by Kyle Soller) teams up with journalist Henry Ashe (portrayed by George Parker) following his daughter’s piano recital to crack a murder case. Together, they unearth a crucial clue—a hexagonal imprint from a cane discovered at the crime scene. Their investigation leads them to Sir Julian Harker (played by Stephen Graham), who mysteriously returned from Burma with newfound wealth.
Harker’s extravagant lifestyle revolves around hosting séances that eerily predict the stock market. In a bid to gather evidence, Hillinghead infiltrates one of these séances, encountering the enigmatic Harker. Amidst the spiritual proceedings, Hillinghead strives to communicate with the victim, unearthing startling revelations along the way.
In 2053, Iris Maplewood (portrayed by Shira Haas) introduces Gabriel Defoe (played by Tom Mothersdale) to a wounded man who bears a striking resemblance to him. However, as Defoe approaches the injured doppelganger, the man suffers a sudden seizure and tragically passes away.
